They do have an obligation, paltry as it is. They aren't the phone company, and don't enjoy the same FCC smackdowns. They offer a "luxury", not a "utility." All the same, they should feel the shame, either legally or morally, for redlining.

Basically, some of you are saying that lower income communities don't deserve the same service as middle class neighborhoods?

Well, if it was weather related safety concern, it wouldn't matter which neighborhood it was right? Its the threat level that is problem, not the income level of the neighborhood.
If the roads are really bad due to freezing rain, I won't get the same level of service for parcel delivery since I'm out in the country. I don't get angry about it, its part of living out in the sticks, and normally I do get the same level of service.

Mayor Emmanual had a special deal with Comcast to give 19.95 basic internet service to low income students in the Chicago Public School system. A deal is a deal. Gun shots or not they need to provide their service.

Now, now. That's not it at all, only talking about those neighborhoods where you have a greatly increased risk of being shot at while only trying to do your job. You know the ones, right? Like the ones in Milwaukee where the ambulance drivers/paramedics get shot at while trying to save the life of someone shot during gang activity. Those neighborhoods.

That has to be one of the silliest statements I've ever seen, here on BITOG or elsewhere.

So you're making the argument that someone's life should be endangered so that Internet service can be maintained?

Multiple complaints already and the OP appears to attempting to bait many users. Where does any reasonably-minded user of this forum think his discussion is going to go besides down the tubes?

Lock time.
