Well it now seems the very long standing cold case murders on the Colonial Parkway have been solved by dna evidence.
A waterman from the northern neck who owned a boat and routinely stayed in Gloucester and Mathews counties was found to have been involved He was found dead in 2017 in his home and he had been dead for a month. They did dna test to see who he was to identify him and his dna matched one of the Parkway murder victims. A young lady.
Now… For my experience on that Colonial Parkway … In early 1996 my ex girlfriend and I went to where the monument is at in Yorktown. It is isolated pretty well actually and it was early evening time out and just about sunset. We park and being perfectly candid nothing had started just yet. Well a white van comes around us and parks in front of us by anbout 50 feet. I instantly had a bad, bad feeling come over me. Something didn’t feel right and I was very, very nervous about that white van. I told Shannon that I was nervous and I had the key in the ignition… Left foot had the clutch engaged… Car in 1st gear… I told her IF anyone gets out of that van and comes walking towards us we were hauling rear end out of there. That white van was parked about 50 feet away from us. I told her I was going to wait until that person got halfway between my car and that van then take off…About 2-3 minutes go by and… A white guy gets out of the drivers side door opens… He looked evil… and seriously like he was ready to do something very aggressive… I will never forget what that look on his face looked like. It was freighting… He was shorter than me but muscular and built in shape .. looked to be late 30s early 40s… darkish short blonde hair with a mustache and beard… Then I notice a 2nd guy come out from the passenger side of that white van… He was younger than the other guy… late 20s early 30s… short black hair… Height was a bit taller than the other guy… He looked pissed and had bad intentions in his eyes too..I waited until both of them got halfway between our vehicle and his … Started that 89 Ford Probe up… Dropped the clutch … Hauling it out of there… As soon as I cranked the car.. they both turned and ran back to their white van.
I was like Holy blank… I drove reckless driving speed down that parkway until I took a left turn on to a back road to get to route 17… Drove 80 mph in a 45 mph zone. They were chasing us… We get to the stoplight at Rte 17 traffic stopped but at least we were out in public. I went south of Rte 17 4 lane road… I then drove like a NASCAR driver on crack cocaine… Weaving in and out of traffic.. slicing behtween vehicles.. to get him stuck behind us so that we could get away from them. I went through the stoplight at Ft Eustis Boulevard and that white van was stuck in behind other vehicles and they hit that red light. The light turned red as the back end of my red Ford Prove went under it.
I had lost them… Thank God.
Drove to a parking lot at an old Winn Dixie that had shut down… and parked in a way to hide my car from Rte 17 and Denbigh Boulevard.
Scared to pieces… I waited 10 minutes then herded north on Rte 17 to go home in Gloucester.
Fast forward to 2008 and my girlfriend Michelle abs I are watching a show about cold case murders and then using psychics to see if they could help find the killer or killers. This show was about the Colonial Parkway killer or killers. Both ladies knew nothing about the case…
Get this… They both saw not one lone killer… BUT 2… They BOTH saw a white van… They both SAW a monument nearby, They BOTH said the killers were white males… with one being older than the other….And the ages they described were exactly what me and my ex saw.
I had told Michelle about that very scary and harrowing event.,As we watched the show she kept hitting me… Every time those two lady psychics said a detail that matched my own experience. It was spooky.
I had long thought my experience was NOT related to those other murders on the Parkway. The last double murder was in 1989
7 years later… Just seemed highly unlikely to me. Many thought the killer or killers had moved to another area… I thought the same.
Well… With this guy being found by dna evidence to have been killer… He never moved anywhere else… He lived on the northern neck here in Virginia and was still in and around Gloucester and Mathews as well. Knowing that makes me wonder…
I know the BTK killer went 6 or more between his killing sprees. . I forget exactly how long but it was a good number of years.
The fact this guy matches the age, race, size and still lived in the area at that time in 1996… Really makes me wonder.
I have seen rhe killers pictures and his photo from 1999 is very, very similar to the man I saw that evening. It’s been 28 years… So it’s very difficult to say I know that is the guy I saw that evening. But I know a couple of things without hesitation… If he was really tall or short or overweight… I definitely would have remembered that. The guy I saw was none of that. Zero. I thought he was my dads height… In shape and a bigger built guy…A beard and mustache…
Man… I don’t know. But the evil in that guys face… Was truly very, very scary.
And yeah… I believe that those Parkway murders were committed by 2 guys… It is extremely rare I know. One case from California there was a case of 2 guys who were serial killlers together. It can happen…
The police are asking for anyone that knew that guy to come forward and talk with them. Why would they really care about a dead’s man associates? Because I believe that is because they want to find out who his friends were. Because I believe they have another person’s dna from one of the victims. I’d put good money on that.,And the police most assuredly are not going to tell anyone in the public about that. For good reason.
