Coldest Temp You Ever Cranked Over Your Motor?

I think -20 with a windchill of -35.

Car was parked outside all day, the locks were frozen and the battery was down to about 2 cranks... the car almost died, and then one of the cylinders kicked and it turned over...

Clattered for a bit until oil filled the upper engine parts, then everything electric was squealing... the fan was making noise... he suspension was squeaking, and the steering was making nasty sounds...

That kind of cold sure does make my car complain a lot but for the most part very reliable...

Unplugged, outside, and sitting for at least eight hours (my qualifications): -42C (-44F) on M1 0W-20 with my Mazda. Some guy on the street plugged into my apartment spot outlet the night before and blew the breaker.

Judging from how slowly it turned over recently after being out all night at -35C (-31F), it wouldn't have been able to do -42C with the current setup of a six-year-old battery and 5W-20. I had some 5W-20 that I felt like using up, but I don't think I'll ever 5W again for winter.
