Our nearest city, Cranbrook, set a new low for Dec 22. It was -25.6 F. Getting warmer now.
That’s interesting and certainly no worse than my system. My system uses NaCl and is flushing chlorides in my septic tank and field which flow through the gravel into the Kootenay River, then the Columbia River and then into the Pacific Ocean which is probably the same ultimate destination as yours.
I have a hose misting some water in a tree so we can enjoy some icicles here in Florida tomorrow morning.
Had one until that resin wound up in every pipe in the house - several hours with an air compressor - never did get all of it out of the water heater …My softener (KCl) and de-sulfur (air oxidizer) units are typical resin bead beds that need flush and recharge - the joint flush pipe comes out from my water corner there, through the wall and to ground drain (shared with a couple gutters on that side)

I filtered it with a Milwaukee SawzallSounds like it would be a good idea to put a sediment filter on the outlet of a water softener.

Indeed. It will be 19 tonight. Though we were just at Disney this past week. You must be in the northern part of the state.
Cool temps here in central Florida.
For You B.C.ers this must be a real shock!! Especially since you don't have the amount of equipment needed
Now, now, I am in SE BC, not the lower mainland. As far as we are concerned, Vancouver and Victoria can freeze in the dark. We are politically and economically aligned with Alberta in this area. My gasoline comes from Calgary and my propane is from Lethbridge. My MP is a Conservative. My neighbours to the south are the good people of Northern Idaho and Montana. For You B.C.ers this must be a real shock!! Especially since you don't have the amount of equipment needed
and very few people use winter tires. Vancouver....welcome to the new Coquihalla!
