Not quite the machine of my Gaggia Brera at our beach house...but a space saving option to experiment with at the base camp.Just chugged a double shot with water spritz and cream from Starbucks. Acceptable.

We like what we like. No Aldi here, but I have found Trader Joe coffees to be nasty, harsh and not freshly roasted. Not sure if equivalent to Aldi offerings.Tried a bunch of different coffee brands. Always come back to Aldi organic. whole bean. None of taste that different to me.
Which one? I thought I saw 2-3 different varieties of their whole bean organic yesterday. One was from Peru ... don't remember the others.Tried a bunch of different coffee brands. Always come back to Aldi organic. whole bean. None of taste that different to me.
This was my grinder for the morning press today. If I'm in a rush (and we have 4 adults making an espresso in the AM) it's preground lavazza Crema E Gusto. The cassabrews machine gets a daily workout and is holding up fine so far.Have a new hand grinder on the way tomorrow that should be a blast dialing in for spro. Have a few very capable electric grinders, just something about a quality hand mill that ignites the senses. Will come in handy dialing in a different coffee daily as that's my approach to home roasting.
Good to see you here! I commented on your thread over on Home Barista (I’m “Memphis to Nashville” on there)Good deal... I bought my 1st hand mill back in 2009 and still have it. It's a KyM Turkish design with a copper cylindrical body with stepless adjustable tool steel conicals. Was told it was from the 1950s and possibly, still grinds quite well. That got me addicted to hand grinding and have had several more since. Due to a recent gnarly injury/surgery I decided to treat myself to a YOLO purchase and this is on the way...

Yeah some of those members put themselves on almighty grinder knowledge status, bwahaha. Will go on and on with brand bashing, speaking down to a degree for those not willing/able to spend 5 figures on a setup, not buying $50/226 grams Geisha whatever, etc.Good to see you here! Well, one thing I appreciate about that forum vs. Reddit, which is one of the other major places coffee people go to post, is that it seems to be an older, more experienced, and, to a degree, a more dedicated and serious crowd.Yeah some of those members put themselves on almighty grinder knowledge status, bwahaha. I can agree... have been involved in espresso for 20 yrs now and seen tons of change along the way. The Reddit crowd is typically made up of the newbie influenced FOMO crowd that really have no clue.Well, one thing I appreciate about that forum vs. Reddit, which is one of the other major places coffee people go to post, is that it seems to be an older, more experienced, and, to a degree, a more dedicated and serious crowd.
People really go into detail in their posts there.
Kinda like BITOG, actually.
