Coffee - Your Current Brew

I've been drinking the same single origin espresso blend from a local roaster for a few months now. Freshly roasted beans, low acidity, nice chocolatey/caramel taste, great crema, reasonable pricing, and it's local, so I'm sticking with it for now.

That's beautiful!

Been making my own cappuccinos for the past couple years. The only brands I've been able to find locally have been Café Bustelo or Lavazza. Lavazza was too weak for me, so I've been using the Café Bustelo. It's gotten to the point where it was getting too bitter for me, even with a little sugar. Happened to remember a coffee shop in a couple towns over. Stopped by and grabbed a couple that sparked my interest. Two 1/2lb bags was $12 while a little pricey, it's worth it as I've found out...

So far I've tried the Ethiopia Harrar, and holy smokes where has that been all my life! Not remembering that espresso is supposed to have a slightly sweet taste I added sugar to it. Yea, I didn't need to do that. But it wasn't the usual bitter taste I'm used to, it was almost Heaven! Luckily for me I'll be starting a new job that takes me past there every day. I'm eventually going to get my own grinder and just get the whole beans.

If they have any Brazilian beans from Daterra farm, give that a try. These are one of my favorite beans for espresso... flavorful chocolate/caramel flavors and low acidity. Great for cappuccinos.

$12 for 1/2lb of good beans is not bad at all, IMO.

Believe it or not they charge $6 per 1/2lb or $11 for 1lb, whole or ground to whatever you want. I tried the Organic Columbia and it was great as well. Not as good as the Ethiopian though. They have a whole selection to try out.

That's super cheap. The stuff I currently buy is $28 for 2 lb bag. It is only 3 days from roasting, and still cheaper than charbucks.

I have bought and used three different grind and brew coffee makers. The Cuisinart Grindnbrew with the blade grinder, the Cuisinart with the burr grinder and the Jura Capresso Coffee Team pro. The Jura Capresso makes the best cup of coffee but they are all buggy machines. I ditched the Cuisinart burr grinder for a separate Krups burr grinder and a Delonghu drip machine. Much better coffee for whatever reason...that setup is at our beach house. The Jura Capresso Team plus makes an excellent pot of coffee but it grinds too many beans per pot IMO. SO, I have just ordered the Krups burr grinder along with a Krups drip machine to replace the Jura.

I like folgers black silk dark roast or almost any dark roast. Have a coffee grinder, but for me regular supermarket ground coffee is good enough for me. About 95% of the time it is Folgers Black silk, if the store is out I just buy regular Folger or Butternut.
