Does anyone know anything about the ATF used in the new ZF 8HP45 transmissions used in the Charger and 300?

All I can find out from Google searches is it's a low viscosity fluid and its part number is 68157995AB, with MSRP of $44.94 for a bottle of unknown volume.

The 845RE is a “fill for life” transmission, requiring no oil changes during normal driving conditions.
Gear selection is controlled by a shift-by-wire system, with no mechanical linkage from the shifter to the outside of the transmission.
See specs with transmission ratios: http://www.media.chrysler.com/dcxms/assets/specs/2012_CH_300_SP.pdf

Not another fill for life unit. Is this what's really best for the transmission and car owner?

Fill for life means good enough to last through manufacturer's warranty IMO.

I've got one of these transmissions and will look into this in about 2 years. I'll be interested in knowing where to get this fluid, and if there's a trick to changing the trans fluid.

I hope that price is for a gallon or 4 L bottle. I also hope there will be a 3rd-party option a few years from now. No way that's truly a "fill for life" trans.

ZF Lifeguard 8 fluid? ZF fluid is fairly expensive in general. Typical interval is ~60k miles under severe service. Visit ZF website.

The 8 speed isn't a Chrysler unit? I was afraid that Chrysler, the company that couldn't make a 4 speed auto work, had released an 8 speed into the wild.

Is this designed completely and produced completely by ZF?
