So I went to change the coolant in my 2000 chrysler concorde 3.2L today to show it some love and it peed out brown coolant with an oily sheen to it.

Anyone done a head gasket on a 3.2L before or have any advice on this?

Thanks

Can you explain this more? I was under the impression that when you use one of these, http://www.tooltopia.com/uview-560000.aspx, and the fluid turns yellow it means that combustion gases are getting into the cooling system from the head gasket.

It would be great if nothing were wrong but I'm pretty sure something is wrong when the coolant comes out brown and has oil sheen on it. What other diagnoses can I do?

if you have used the tool linked above and got a positive for combustion gases then yes you have a head gasket problem, but when you leave this test and link out of your first post it is a little frustating to be sandbagged with the info on post #3, when advice based on not all the info was rendered in post #2?

Sorry I left that out on the first post, didn't mean to "sandbag" anyone.

Anyone have advice on doing a head gasket job on a 3.2L? I've done a few on chevys but this one looks like it will be fun with how the engine is.

Thanks
