Whats more American--to support a Japanes automaker who is expanding and opening more factories in America, or supporting an American automaker who is sending as many jobs as it can to Mexico and Canada.
In my state, Nissan is expanding their plant by 120 million, and a new Toyota plant is on the way. They are doing more for my state than American automakers ever have, or probably ever will.
I'm not saying support one way or the other, I just think it's worth looking at when the argument of supporting American jobs comes up.
This is part of the reason I just bought the Cobalt. I wanted to get the HHR, but the thing is made in Mexico. If I'm "buying American", I would like for the thing to be made in America, specifically North America.
Meanwhile, I see Honda is building Civics in Greensburg, Indiana now.
So like you said, which is more American, buying the Hencho en Mexico HHR or the Made in Greensburg USA Honda? I honestly don't know how to answer that.
