Am I missing something? I thought this was an ICE only vehicle?
Edit- Oh, I see in an earlier page someone brought a Chinese made ICE vehicle to compare to possible future EV models from China...
Ummm .. it doesnt work that way. It's not country of origin. Maybe it's just the fact that it cost $30,000, isnt that appealing looking and has a whopping big (sarcasim) 1.2L 3 cylinder engine with terrible acceleration times.

OR ... maybe just the fact that they only went on sale less than a year ago.

OR ... ohhhh wait! These sales numbers are pretty darn good after all! Brand new model, almost 10,000 sales the first quarter for the Envista!
Out of all sales in the next category up second place was 13,000 sales and that was the Buick Envision!

So the Envista is doing quite well maybe, hey its early in my house and on my first cup of coffee maybe that is why the sales numbers are posted for the Envista is it is doing well? I dont know, it placed 14th out of 21 but hasn't been out for a year yet.

It's pretty much impossible to not buy Chinese products these days . A Chinese EV ? Yeah , that's never going to happen .

The Envista was brought up because it shows Chinese made cars are already imported to the USA.
Cool, I figured I was missing something there... and on top of that I miss-read CKNs reply too... so much for posting while still waking up. I still dont get the 3 cylinder engine, its a turn off but ... I guess EPA related. Gee.. nothing new there ... but no politics.

Cool! Thank god EV prices will stay high.
It just proves it’s not about the environment.
Not that any of this will matter because the Chinese don’t send cars here anyway and this will ensure Americans continue to pay high prices.
Not sure if this will affect Volvo… Volvo is working on it.

It has always been about the environment but what you have to keep in mind is that there has been a lot of infighting going on between the "greens" and the "unions" as the "greens" are extremely frustrated over the high cost of current EV's. The party needs voters from both segments so the current Administration is trying to appease both sides.

Chinese makers of EV batteries are curtailing their production plans in Germany as falling EV purchases in Europe's largest auto market hamper their sales.
Yes, the enthusiasts have got their cars here in the USA. I cant speak for overseas which is a different playing field for postage size countries and city dwellers. Sales have dropped off faster than I imagined even though it really didnt get ever off the ground here in the USA. IT never will as long as they cost 50k to the average income family.

I agree, and even if the price comes in, the range and the time it takes to charge them will still be an issue to many.
