I’ve done 1000 miles in the last two weeks and the oil pressure is holding up fine. Also all is well with the front axle and U joints which is comforting after dropping it several inches to allow the oil pan to be dropped.

When I did this job on my 2004 I just completely removed the front axle and let the cv shafts hang but I did tie them up so they weren’t hanging.I’ve done 1000 miles in the last two weeks and the oil pressure is holding up fine. $18 for a silicone oring?!? And I thought my company OEM parts were high!
It’s one year later. The hot idle is shown. Still good. The oil pressure while cruising is about 38 psi with 5w40 motor oil with 4,000 miles on it.

Unless GM magically changed the chemical composition of the O-ring to better withstand flattening, yes.
Gen 5 engines are a complete different design far as the oil pump pick-up & don't seem to have a issue like Gen 3 & 4 engines
