Chevron Synthetic Base Oil Question.

This is a quote from the Chevron website:

"Chevron Supreme 100% Synthetic Motor Oils are formulated using 100% synthetic base stocks for the best performance. The improved volatility and stability of synthetic base stocks give reduced oil consumption, faster engine starting (especially in cold weather), and extremely fast lubrication of all moving parts compared to conventional mineral oils. In addition, a special blend of additives protects the engine against harmful deposits and wear."

Notice how they say 100% synthetic base stocks, am I confused and this is just another group 3 synthetic?

I have been trying to find this out as well.. I'm particularly interested in their 0w30 delo synthetic as I have found a chevron distributor in town that can get it for me. Thinking it may replace GC for me.

Nothing wrong with Grp III formulations!

Both Chevron & Petro-Canada are advocates of the "synthetic nature" of hydro-cracked Grp III base oils.

Traditionally, any formulations with synthetic on the label from Chevron have been Grp III.

I prefer Group III. The SOPUS brands are on sale at Advanced Auto quarterly. Chinamart sells their five quart jugs cheap. Quaker State and Pennzoil are best buys for the money.
