It's because many owners think their sporty 250 hp sedan is somehow equivalent to a 500hp forced induction high rpm sports car. Oh wait...BMW uses this oil in their 500 hp forced induction engines. Well then they forgoe it because the 0w30 is "real synthetic" made of golden PAO which is like god's gift to these "high performance" 250 hp sedans. Because without PAO and &a 5k mile OCI these engines will implode. *shrug*.

BMW 5w30 is made of Group III correct? not PAO etc...
Does anyone know the cheapest place you can pick up this oil. My local dealer sells it for about $7 per quart.
if anyone seen it cheaper anywhere, please share....

It's not known. At least not the latest stuff used in the US. $7 is about right as it's less than the normal retail price of GC and M1, but these products can be found cheaper when on sale.

I've been finding this oil (Chevron 5w40syn) recently at my local WalMart. IIRC it's $19.36/gal, gallon jugs only. I'm running it in both my E36 BMWs, M50 and S52 powered.

I had been running T6 rotella in both of them until I finally found this stuff... for $2/gal less!

Walmart carries the Delo 5W-40, and not the Havolne 5W-40. The Delo is a really good oil.

Base oils for both of those should be pretty simillar, although I'm sure the add packs are not, since one is an HDEO and other one is an LL-01 approved oil.

I've run the Delo 5W-40 in my LX450 and it's a great oil, oil pressure usually runs a little higher than even T6. But both are excellent HDEO's for a wide range of applications.
