Welcome back @mightymousetech, I value your input here.
It is rebadged shell helix ultra ECT C2/C3. I use that in my vehicles that don’t use the edge 0w40.Is LL-01 a must as well as high SAPS?
Pennzoil LX is 0w-30, available at Can Tire, often on sale, and has pour temp at -51C. Made in Germany if it matters.
It is, now my second fav after M1 ESP, used to be my number 1 until a few months back.It is rebadged shell helix ultra ECT C2/C3. I use that in my vehicles that don’t use the edge 0w40.
So it's just a coincidence it's made in Belgium, unlike the lower rated stuff from N. America....got it.I praised it bcs. what was inside. Originally, until 2012 or something like that Edge 0W30 was made in Germany, not Belgium. 0W40 was made in Belgium. Then they switched, 0W40 production moved to Germany, and 0W30 to Belgium.
5W40 is not equivalent as it is Group III product.
Until 5-6 years ago, it did not even have MB229.5 approval. It was always lower-tier product in Castrol's lineup. Country of origin is irrelevant.
Yep. Castrol had several flavors around the world of certain grades. But I think they are streamlining their products. 0W30/40 A3 are probably not big sellers anymore in Europe. So why not moving it here?So it's just a coincidence it's made in Belgium, unlike the lower rated stuff from N. America....got it.
And now that they are all made in USA, the 0w30 and 40 will continue to be better....ok
It just doesn’t work anymore. DPF and GPF.unfortunately most of the A3 oils are not appreciated much in Europe.
that's correctunfortunately most of the A3 oils are not appreciated much in Europe.
Here is Canadian Tire’s Motomaster OE Plus version. Also made in Germany and most probably off the same assembly line.Is LL-01 a must as well as high SAPS?
