Steak bomb with mushrooms and fried onions only is a great deal for me.

How I wish I had found a cheesesteak landing anywhere between acceptable and perfect in my life's travels.
I'd be OK with anything on that spectrum.
Alas, I'm left with the feeling that the "cheesesteak" must be a myth or parable on disappointment.
As Chinese restaurants adjacent to veterinary hospitals are to be avoided, the cheesesteak counters I've been to were next to shoe repair shops.

There is a place here called Maletos Sub Shop.Their specialty is the “Pounder”. A cheesesteak with a pound of steak! It is DELICIOUS!! and only $ 12.50

Cheese steak is my area is hard to find worth while, range seems to be 10-15.. Too expensive to take the chance

There is a place nearby called "Fred's Downtown Philly." Since I've been living in Texas since age 11 I've only had a "real" CS once, in Camden, NJ, as an adult. My son lives in King of Prussia and he opined that Fred's sandwiches were authentic. I still like my own better. I have been using provolone, which I have heard is an acceptable cheese for a Philly, but I'm going to try it with Cheez Wiz next time for grins.

Please don't flame me for this, but has anyone tried Jersey Mike's Cheesesteak? I usually get the Italian but I feel like they'd have a good cheesesteak.

I love their sandwiches, I don't eat lunch out very often but if I do it's Jersey Mikes or a salad from Chipotle.

I really like Jersey Mike's Italian subs. There's no magic to CS. I'll bet theirs are just fine, if not better than average.

I'm looking at the prices of a local chain called The Cheesesteak Shop that claims to be founded by a guy from Philly. This is for my closest location.

This is their "Classic Philly". Large is $10.09. Half is $6.59. King is $12.69. American cheese is included. American and provolone is $2.29 extra. Onions, peppers, and hot peppers don't cost extra but have to be requested. There are other extras/doubles that cost anywhere from 89 cents to $2.29.

There are no good cheesesteak places near me. My wife buys the thin sliced steak at the fancy pork store and we make our own at home with peppers and onions and provolone. She complains that the meat is expensive. They're so good that I tell her I don't care what it costs.

I want to go to the place in the movie Creed.
