Looks like a very strong spec to me....thoughts?
That ultra high TBN gives the game away that it's a truck oil, IMO.
The strong low pour point indicates it's not a cracked GrpIII, IMO.

Texas Refinerys 15w40 Something like that

And as far as it being a suitable 502/504 oil...

502/504 oils need to have sulphated ash content below 1.5%. This LubroMoly oil has it listed at 2%.

Wonder how long you could run it in a gas engine?
what does it cost and where would you buy it?

ahh yes..good point. That's for the 504 spec, not 502 though, right?
Maybe that's a GOOD thing, from an anti-wear perspective?

So, we have a high ash/phosphate oil with VERY high TBN and HTHS greater than 3.5, and a nice low Noack, with great pour point and high VI.

Sounds like it could be worth a try in the S4 V8....I'll keep it in mind for the next experimet, after the Castrol SLX Pro LL03 504/507 oil I'm about to try for fun has run its course.

That's for both 504 and 502 specs.

No idea! May not be available...in which case it's an execrise in futility and frustration only, knowing there's a really strong HD oil out there that we can't use. I'll do a quick search.
