Well, I average (4) oil changes a year in my two cars (mine and my wife's.) That's $16 a year in extra cost. I generally keep a car 8-10 years. That's a chunk of change. Will myself or my car actually know the difference at the end of the day?

Doubtful.

A well thought process

I went with ST syn in the Spring after using Mobil1 since it came out in the '70's. I do once-a-year oil changes on 4 vehicles. For one vehicle that's 5k miles and the other 3 are well under 5k. My decision was strictly cost driven. $5.00 per oil change is $20.00/year savings. The ST is holding and running better than the Mobil1. I'll stay with the ST.
