I tried to hammer in a crank seal with a plastic pipe fitting and it went in at a wrong angle. I need an inexpensive screw mechanism ring seal kit. Any recommendations? Anyone had any luck with the free rental tools at Death Zone auto parts or O'Reallys?? Thanks.

I got one from China Freight that works pretty decent.
Parts store loaner program could work.
I've got the same kit. I'd say its fair at best.

Basically nothing in the set fits anything perfect. But if I did enough of one thing I would buy the proper tool from Rotunda/OTC/insert favorite tool truck.
Tapped it in with a 39mm 12 pt axle nut socket. Had a HF slimline mallet with removable threaded ends, so I took both the hard plastic end and hard rubber end off, and just hit the end of the socket with the aluminum middle part. Worked. Greased the seal with petroleum jelly and I think that helped. Thanks for the replies.
