Cheap or Premium Synthetics

Thanks for the responses guys...

The manual calls for 6000 KM oil changes but it does not mention synthetic anywhere, just recommends 5w-30, I think i should go about 10.000KM with the robust hyundai oil filter. Since the car is basically brand new and i drive it pretty easy.

Also, I dont think its a waste of synthetic because those cheap synthetics are said to be group 3 and not true synthetics anyways...correct me if im wrong

Any more the base oil has less to do with the performance of an oil. PAO will operate better in extreme heat & cold than a group III. But the overall combination of a good group III or a mix of group II 1/2, III and PAO or group V with a great additive package can be better than a PAO & mediocre additive package. Oil has come a long way even in the past 5 years.
