...and expensive exhaust parts.

My Jeep is clanking...noticed it last week running errands. Guessing it was a loose exhaust pipe, I decided to hit Monro for a quick check, hoping they might be able to quickly fix a broken hanger or something. They put it on the lift & looked. It's not a hanger: though only a few months old (replaced last fall before I bought it) the tailpipe has a hole in it, the muffler has a crack in it, and the rear hanger is missing. (It's not broken, it is GONE.) OK, while I'm there, might as well get a quote: how much for a new muffler & tailpipe?

I almost had a stroke. $678.64 for a muffler and tailpipe!

Err, no thanks!

Rock Auto has a full Walker cat back for about $160.

I thought you were looking at a Dynomax kit? Or maybe that was someone else.

Either way, the Dynomax Super Turbo kits are great and cheap. Perfect fit and awesome sound for what they are (not a Bassani or Magnaflow kit, about $600 for my truck). The hardware will rust, but the pipes and muffler hold up okay, at least down here.

I've been thinking about a Dynomax kit for my current truck, but it seems kind of silly to have a nice looking exhaust on a beat up truck. It sure did sound nice on my old truck though.

The Dynomax Super Turbo Catback is a little over 150. It will sound good and give you a slight pep in your step. You can get other systems for a bit more, but Dynomax should serve you well.

How long do you want to keep the truck? If it's for a long time, might we suggest a Stainless system? More up front, but you'll never have to replace it.
