Changed oils and now using oil

I want to thank all of you for the input. That's whatis so great about these sites. Not all are going to be correct but somebody is without a doubt. Things was brought up here thast I feel are good posibilities. My car may not like the oil and it may after a spell. The best is to refill the crank and do another trip. Already did refill today and I will be making the trip Monday > Then I'll tell you how it went. Thanks again

Hey OBIO3,why don't you fill it to the level it drops to and remains stable at then see if it uses any.

Lucky......... Last weekend I filled it back to the full mark and monday I made the same 250 mile trip. this time it went down a very slight amount. Guessing about 1/8th Qt. So better then 1/2 by far. I've desided it is the oil and now the van is adjusting to it. I'm ruling out moisture in pan . reasoning is I made 3 trips over a period of 3 months with oil left 1/2 qt low with no other oil used. That's 750 freeway miles plus roughly 300 city miles all total tallied up between those trips. I believe my judgment is reasonable and correct. I also believe the consumption will totally stop in a short time following this last trip. I thank all you guys for the backup here that I truely needed . Your sujestions were all good valid possibilities that helped me deal with this.

weird i had the exact opposite. my girlfriend 2.7l sebrring used oil and every oil change. 3000 oci. Now i decided to try that Mobil1 5w30 EP and so far in 5000 miles it hasnt used any oil!
