I have a 2005 Dodge Stratus with the 2.7 engine. I have 117K miles on the engine, it doesn't smoke, and runs quiet, and I don't have to add oil between changes. I am considering moving it from 5w20 to 5w30. My local WallyWorld doesn't carry Havoline 5w20, and that is what I want to run in it. The manual states that either 5w20 or 5w30 is acceptable, but 5w20 is preferred. It has had 5w20 run in it, I think anyway, b/c the Dodge dealer has done the oil changes up till now and they tell me they have put 5w20 in it.
Should I follow the "if it ain't broke . . ." ; or do the readers think the move to 5w30 will be OK ?
