I don't think they are easily obtainable for most people buying oil filters ... not even sure they are still made today. What brick and mortar store even sells them? I've never seen them where I purchase oil filters.

I bought a six pack of these in the blue version by Parts Plus? from RA for cheap. A large amount of rust was found on the inner walls of the can; most likely from poor storage conditions.
I’m pretty sure the parts plus are premium guard. I bought a few cases of those as well.

Correct, same numbering system PH2876, but w/o the XL suffix; I can't keep track lately.

Correct. I’ve got a case of them after reading on here how great they were. They were cheap and fit all my cars. Then poof! They weren’t so great. I can’t remember the issue but there was something that made me stop using them. I’ve got an issue with a fram drive on my 18 and need to swap it out today. I may grab one of these. I still see the regular champs for sale, but no xls on Amazon
Me either. Those blue ones were around $1.25 shipped and will suffice for the 5k intervals I need.
Yeah I dont recall if there was an issue someone found or that it was just the timing the PG based stuff just kinda took off and we all (including me) ran to them.
I still have 1 or 2 of the Champ XLs in my stash that I will eventually use probably on a customers car or something.
