CCW for the wife?

Take her to a range that allows you to rent guns before you buy. It took me renting probably 5 or 6 guns before finding one that my wife liked. She did not like the small 5-shot s&w .38s with hot ammo. It kicked like a mule in her hands. We ended up going with a Khar E-9. Got it used. It has never missed a beat and we run speer gold dots for carry ammo for her.

I would tend to agree.
And I will add as a disclaimer that yeah a quality semi is way way easier to shoot accurately "but in self defense as we will most likley use it try to explain to a judge and jury why you tagged that guy at 50 yards] and quicker to reload and the gunshop gurus will talk firepower etc but the belt fed 308 will be at home in the closet when the j frame with a speed strip will be in your pocket
