Yeah you are right to tell him to get out and run the vehicle for awhile. I took a long day trip 4 weeks ago... Drove to the mountains and came back home. On Rte 60 it is a very surprising easy drive on a good two lane road. Interesting was the snow line... Was at about 800 feet elevation. When I got up to the blue ridge parkway at 2300 feet snow was quite pretty. Drove back to Rte 29 headed north to interstate 64 and headed back east to home. On the road for about 9 hours and drove 430 miles that day.
I drive near home all the time so my car sees regular operating temp quite often. I like a longer trip every now and then just to see the country. Some pretty neat farms and houses on a road between Rte 60 and Rte 360 just west of Richmond. Beautiful property there.

From what I could learn online about Oil jug date codes the Y18199 could be the 199th day of 2018 July 18. . It is clearly seen on back side at the bottom.

I've heard the color doesn't tell you anything
My son did that (2 miles to work) … 5w20 MT was thick and black in 3k …
Went to Quaker State Ultimate Durability or M1 and doing better (2013 Pentastar) …

You're good SlavB. As has been shared already, If you're looking for LSPI, both will be fine. If you want other benefits, d1G2 is superior since SN Plus is strictly for LSPI protections.

But I dont think it was D1G2. Ill have to look at the bottle.
Last good oils run. Quaker State Ultimate Durability and Valvoline Advanced.
Whatever factory fill is in the jetta is awesome. VW508. maybe its just the assembly lube.
