I dont trust the dipstick in my car.
Example - I've ran Pennzoil for 3 OCIs and the oil on dipstick was always clear, yet when I drained it - it was ink black going out.
Right now I'm running Mobil 1 Extended Performance for 500 miles - the oil turned dark on the dipstick already.
I've heard the color doesn't tell you anything

I called it a "corn dog" in another post ... the thickness/texture was more alarming especially when it wreaked of gasoline in a 5w20 ... it was oxidized IMO ...

Interesting. I wonder if the MT was doing any cleaning? That oil does have some proprietary, unique chemistry. I will say that what separates a good synthetic from a great one is the oxidation stability of the oil. All modern PCMO's crush the wear tests, especially the IVA.
