A local chain in my area (Strauss Auto) has GTX on sale for 2.29 a qt.(this is a dollar off regular price). They have Syntec Blend on sale for 2.49 a qt.(this is 2 dollars off regular price). I wouldn't pay 2 dollars a qt. more for the blend but for 20 cents I think it's a no-brainer. Is there much difference between GTX and Syntec Blend in say 5w20?

I think that price for the blend is very good. However, that price for the conventional GTX is not that unusual. The Walmart in my area (Chicago suburbs) has 5 quart jugs of Castrol GTX for $10.97, which works out to $2.194 per quart. This is the everyday price. Still, the price you gave for the Syntec blend is very good, so I'd go with that while it's on sale.
I say go for the blend, but what are you driving that requires 5W-20?
or you can go to advance autoparts and get a full "syn" for BOGO. Valvoline Synpower. comes to about 2.60 or so but its a syn. pretty good price if you ask me
I would take Syntec blend for only 20 cents more ,thats not a bad price.

I forgot to add that Syntec 'Full Synthetic' is on sale for $4.39 a qt.. I have a Honda Accord that calls for 5w20. As far as the AA BOGOF the AA's in my area don't seem to carry Synpower in 5w20. I was just wondering how much better Syntec Blend is versus GTX since I believe all 5w20's are at least part 'synthetic'.
