I seriously doubt there is a single shred of evidence to prove this.

I've been mixing over 30 years and never and issue. Many hundreds of thousands of miles on vehicles. If I think about it, well over a million miles total. I don't just go out and change the oil/filter and mix them all together. I did this when I was young and when I had little money(I'd use anything!). Most of the time my OCI's are with the same brand, grade etc. Often today, due to having such a variety of brands, dino/syn due to sales, rebates/FAR, closeouts and BITOG - "Product, Rebate, Sales" section, I often end up with orphan qts just like many members here. OR! Due to having sooooo many qts of different brands, I like to give my vehicles a consistant mix. I do prefer to blend my own syn and dino and I don't think that most of the OTC syn/blend oils are as high as 20%-30%. Maybe a few but, who knows?
Im not trying to play scientist/oil engineer and Im not trying to out think the people that design these oil but, with 60-80 qts of oils on hand/stash, this is what I like to do. And I think that I have enough of my own evidence/experience to do so!
