So most of you by now are rolling your eyes...I post this because the search engine on this web site is horrid and I had no luck.
I noticed that Valvoine Durablend is SM/CF and Castrol's blend is only SM. And wondered if one was turned out better UOA's over the other?

Castrol GTX does not have much moly from what I recal Dr No.
Anyone know of any UOA's that have shown one ourperforming the other in any way? Sort of strange if Castrol GTX blend has more moly that Durablend while Valvoilne Maxlife has a bunch and GTX HM has none.

Perfer castrol b/c of moly

BTW people dont use caps in your titles anymore

So Dr. No's love of moly must make him a "perferred" Havoline or Red Line user??

Not really, I just like moly

I would surely use oils without it and still sleep at night, but perfer oils with.

Valvoline Durablend UOA's look very good recently...not many Syntec Blend UOA's...Quite sure both are good oils...Run the one that's on sale...or run the one with that leaps out at you...thing is the Syntec Blend bottles are a nightmare to measure 1/2 and 1/4 quarts from...

The only problem with the search engine is the number of meaningless threads with no information in them. But that is okay. Instead of taking 5 minutes to learn how to use the search engine, why don't you just post more comparison threads starting with

CASTROL OR PENNZOIL?
CASTROL OR MOBIL?
CASTROL OR SHELL?
CASTROL OR QUAKER STATE?
CASTROL OR EXXON?
VALVOLINE OR PENNZOIL?
VALVOLINE OR MOBIL?
VALVOLINE OR SHELL?
VALVOLINE OR QUAKER STATE?
VALVOLINE OR EXXON?
PENNZOIL OR MOBIL?

And then a week from now, while we are discussing QUAKER STATE OR SUPERFLO?, someone else can post:

Hi, I tried doing a search but the search engine really sucks. It seems to be getting worse! I apologize if this has been discussed before. Which is better, CASTROL BLEND OR VALVOLINE DURABLEND?

And we can start all over again! It will be fun.
So, I'll play along and answer your question:

Go with the Durablend!!!

Valvoline has this other oil called Maxlife

that is really really awesome. I don't have any proof but there are some posters with ALOT of posts that recommend MAXLIFE

three times a day. I read that at one time MAXLIFE had 300 ppm moly and 12-22% PAO so it must be good! And Valvoline Synpower 5W-40 really pours down the funnel FAST

so I recommend that too! If you have a new Honda then use 10W-30 or for anything else use 10W-40! The thicker the oil, the better. You want to muffle all of the engine noise so that you can't even hear it running. Overfilling the engine by a quart or two helps with this too. That is the best way. You might have to push your car a little to get it going but that's okay. Mine goes really good downhill and is super quiet!

BTW Triple_Se7en, please kindly insult TallPaul for his moly addiction.
It's only fair

Paul has a Valvoline addiction first & foremost. Removing whatever moly in it - won't stop Paul from purchasing it. I don't fault him one bit for his love of Valvoline. I even helped Paul beef-up his Maxlife synthetic stock recently by a dozen or-so.
