Castrol 0W-40 German Made

I saw some Castrol 0W40 at Walmart yesterday and it was labeled as being Made In Germany. I thought the Castrol 0W40 was made in Belgium? Is this some sort of new formulation?

Form what I've read here, Castrol switched manufacturing locations. The 0w30 is now made in Belgium. Whether it changed formulas, could not say. After my stash for 2 OC's are up, I may try the 0w-40 instead of the 0w-30. I and my 2.5L really like the 0w-30!

Who knows, and who cares. People here get way too hung up on the place of production. Companies shift production all the time, or might even have multiple facilities. If the formula is the same, then what difference does it make where it was blended or bottled?

I guess his question was: is the formula the same?

PDS hasn't changed, so it probably is the same. Possibly another VOA can confirm if there were any changes to add pack. I doubt it though.

Agreed.
I used to think basestocks made the oil,today I know better.
I've got and am using the Belgian 40 grade in my charger right now. This car runs so much smoother on a 40 grade over the specified 20 grade.
I suppose my driving habits contribute to that smoothness too

I wasn't asking which is better. I haven't been on here in awhile so I was curious as to whether or not this was a new oil of some sort, or simply the usual Belgium 0W40. No need to to get bent out of shape dparm.

In the European car subforum, there were multiple discussions about Castrol relocating their 0w40 and 0w30 factories.

I have Belgian made 0w40 in my car.

I been accumulating a stash of 5quart (from Wallys) and single quart(VatoZone) of Syntec 0w-40 Made in Germany over the past couple of months. I also have 15-20 quarts of the Newer, Made in Belgium 0w-30. It has a mango color around the 0w30 vs the old Red. I think I got the last of the German 0w30 here in Wenatchee a couple of months ago.
