I was wondering if there were any UOA or VOA of the castrol edge black bottle (with syntec) and gold bottle (with titanium).

If you could link me to them that would be awesome.

I know the typical response would be why does it matter when TGMO is available? But I am just curious about castrol's product.

VOAs and used oil analysis don't tell much about the oil. used oil analysis tell more about the condition of the oil.

I did a used oil analysis of the 5w20 Gold bottle in our KIA. I would imagine the add packs are identical, the 0w20 just probably has a higher viscosity index than the 5w20.

One thing about Gold bottle, not only does it run scary quiet it holds its grade extremely well. IMO it is one of the best readily available over the counter syns going, but it doesn't get a ton of attention here.

Additve packages are not identical. Black bottle does not have titanium and doesn't have as good of base oils as the gold bottle. Gold bottle actually has some esters in it.

I used to be able to get Castrol Edge Titanium Gold Bottle 0w-20 W/ KN or Bosch Distance Plus filter for $30 from Advance.

Haven't seen it on sale lately.

What about "Castrol Edge Professional?" It comes in 0w-20 and says it's formulated for Honda and Toyota. But where can you find it?

I know that I thought he was asking about gold bottle 0w20? I didn't even know there was a black bottle 0w20 although I guess theres no reason not to be one.

Castrol OE 0W-20 is available at Mazda dealerships. I posted a used oil analysis of that oil on this site.
