Castro RX 15W-40W diesel oil

Hello group: Can anyone tell give me some info on this oil...{on sale at my Wallyworld for $5.99 gal]

I specificaly would like to know how much Moly, alongwith the flash and cold pour points. I am guessing it is very simialr to Pennzoil Longlife 15W-40W diesel oil!

It appears that Castrol RX Super is a consumer product much like GTX. RX is not listed in the HD section of Castrol's web site.
RX is CH-4 rated, (01 and older Diesels) and is a cost-effective product.
I can buy 20 litre pails of the stuff for $29.00 CDN or around $20.00 US.
I think the RX+ is spec'd by Castrol, but might be filled and packaged by the lowest bidder.
I've been wrong before.

Hi,

Castrol RX Super 15w-40 is/was a CH4 oil for American style heavy diesels. It is an excellent oil and is very popular amongst truckers here in Australia.
I have used it over some millions of kms - at up to 18000 mile drains - in Detroit DDEC2 Diesels
It is used by Detroit as a "cleanup oil" - at short OC intervals - in heavily sludged engines too

The only reason I changed from RX was to go to Castrol Enduro LD 15w-40 (semi synthetic) and then to Mobil's Delvac 1 5w-40

Good luck finding the oil's specs. Castrol is one of those companies that likes to hide them. You'll probably have to email them directly for an answer.
