Cartridge filters ease of use

my old car had its cartridge filter mounted in the engine bay

my current is under. I don't see an issue draining and changing it... it has to be on ramps anyway....

The cartridge on my 2012 Volvo S60 is ideal. It takes a shallow socket (like this) with a rachet, extension, and u-joint to remove the cap. It's up top so oil does not pool in the cap.
