Carquest Premium- price increase

Thats unfortunate. Yes 2 bucks isn't the end of the world, but everything keeps going up.

All the filters at walmart went up in January and have stayed there. Strangely the stuff at RA went up a while back but some have started coming down.

Likely just pushing prices up wherever they can / think people will just suck it up. Good thing I have a stash I guess.

Everyone loves to blame "Greedflation"..........................Meanwhile your groceries have increased by 80% or doubled, gas is up almost 50%, everything else is up at least 50% through covid19

Meanwhile auto parts have really only increased by 20-25% through Covid19

Car parts are still relatively cheap compared to everything else, let's talk when the filter hits 15.99 plux tax over a 2 year period.

We demand low-costs as consumers, but then we get upset when we receive poor service or quality. We complain when there are no qualified people, but then we don’t want to absorb the costs for higher wages. We say that big corporations are “greedy” when they turn large profits or raise prices, but then we expect our own investment portfolios to grow as shareholders of these same companies.

Capitalism for me and none for thee.

That's kind of how it is now, only in reverse. Prices are higher, quality is lower and more foreign made content as companies' VIPs are making big $$$

Don't forget, if you have investments YOU are demanding higher returns from the very corporate CEO's your denouncing.
Atex was right - Capitalism for me and none for thee is the name of the game these days.

Specifically this is what the market is demanding....................while many of us on here want the best quality above all else for longevity

The vast overwhelming majority of the consumer market ONLY looks at price, and as long as it works for their engine, they don't care about it's quality. Most consumers will happily save now and pay later.

Amazon has specials on Purolator One oil filters in a 6 pack. I got 6 filters for $38.42. $6.23 each. Great filter and great price. The BOSS filter is great but not at $15. Wait for a Thanksgiving sale or xmas to get back down to that price. They are $39.74 now. great price for PL14476 filter for Toyota's

More like save now & trade in (DUMP THEIR JUNK ON SOMEONE ELSE) later!

Nothing to do with capitalism. It's corporate greed.

Yep, corporate greed can be part of capitalism. If the infation train comes by, everyone will jump on it to make more profit, even if it doesn't cost them more to produce goods. The whole goal of any capitolistic business is to make as much profit as possible, and greed can certainly be a factor if the opportunity arises.

I bought a dozen Bosch filters when Menards clearanced them out a few years back. I also bought a dozen champ xls that seem to be pretty good for the $2 a piece I paid.

as you mentioned when everything else is going up around us.. our pockets have already been put through the wringer, so yeah coughing up the 20-25% increase for auto parts hurts and is more noticeable.

Gasoline is approaching $3, which is about the average throughout the 2010's - not even adjusted for inflation.

Groceries are up 25% since before the pandemic.

Auto parts are actually up much more than 25%. 25% is simply the latest filter hike.
