Ummm-it's $7.99, now up to $9.99... A 25% increase. NAPA is a ripoff for filters, they're not a real good comparison in my book.Well…
The Napa PG filters are and have been $12.99 for a long time now…
So…. $7.99 to $ 8.99 for the Carquest Premium blue is STILL way cheaper than that…
I ain’t going to get all worked up over that.
There’s always ChampXL as wellYeah, I think there is a bit of 'Greedflation" on Advance Auto Parts than any wholesale pricing increase from PG. You can still shop around and find other branded PG made synthetic filters in the $5-$6 range quite easily.
At $7.99 with discount codes, they were an ok value, not so much if everyday in now $9.99. Might as well buy a FRAM XG at those prices.

Yeah but have some of their filters dropped having silicone ADBV's?There’s always ChampXL as well
I was thinking the same thing. Some RA purchased anecdotes posted have shown nitrile adbv. Also, 'afaik' they use same or similar metal to metal Champ Labs bypass seal area which anecdotes have shown to leak. Same as I found on the now discontinued Super Tech MP7317.Yeah but have some of their filters dropped having silicone ADBV's?
Fwiw, I think there's something to that conclusion. Seen it happen on Amazon with oil filters and other items, algorithm pricing. With Amazon, prices can change dramatically and quickly. As word gets out about the Carquest Premium, the demand must be going up, so the price gets jacked up too. O'Reilly had the MicroGard Select at $10.99 for a short time, then brought it back down to $9.99 … probably because sales dropped at $10.99.
Yeah.. https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/t...-light-tests-st-mp7317-champ-ph2835xl.387638/Do Champ xl’s have ruffled leak springs?
Ah yes. I remember your c&p now. Thanks
I still have NAPAs that have their Gold fleet filter sales-Huntley Auto Supply (east of here in Georgetown & West Union OH) actually had it twice this year. Now that they're PG made, might have to buy a few next year! Those same Napa Gold filters were way, way cheaper 6-8 plus years ago….
It is a fair comparison. Napa Golds were ok priced back then. Going to $12.99 was a big increase.
And even still $ 9.99 is still well better than$12.99.
