Use it, don't stress... Stant and Motorad have been making these things for a loooooong time.
Both Stant and these Motorad are garbage, there is no other way to say it. Stant was good years ago but have gone cheap. OE only for thermostats, the last thing you want with an engine is an overheating episode especially with newer all aluminum or mixed metal engines.

I respectfully disagree. I've changed a lot of thermostats and every single one was Murray, which is reboxed Motorad. Yet I've never had a single engine or cooling system problem. And we sell these to shops every day and I've NEVER had a return. Oh and once I ordered an OEM thermostat... Guess whose logo it had on it? Hint: Motorad. I'm so sick if people saying "if it's not OE it's trash" because you have to remember that Mopar, Motorcraft, ACDelco, etc. Do NOT manufacture ANY parts...

Stant does offer OE line of Thermostats and for some cars a super-stat also we either use the Super-stat or the OE Stant but not a big fan of moto-rad really mostly imported and not real good quailty
Stant was in my Journey and I replaced it with another OE which was Stant when I found it was lazy and sticking. No issues thereafter.
I've used both brands and both are fine. Just be sure to fill and bleed the system properly and and drive happy.
You will know right away if it's not working properly, and always buy the fail-safe fail-open type if that option is offered.

The companies that make for OE have a different line for OE, it is not the same line, quality of the pill element or QC. Keep getting sick of hearing it because you will hear it often on this site and rightfully so.
It is a small inexpensive part that is absolutely critical to proper engine operation and when malfunctions can cost thousand in damage, why would anyone want to cheap out on that for a few bucks?

Kuzeh or Tama for Japan cars are good from my experience.
German made Wahler that I installed on my Volvo 240 is the heaviest duty thermostat I have ever installed.
If I buy Stant, it's the Super Stant. Stuck shut thermostat is bad news, and it's happened to me.

Nothing but problems with Motorad stats. They are all over the map. Open @195,close ,open @176,close, open @188. Etc

Years ago before chain parts stores there were excellent aftermarket parts available at the parts stores, you could just go in, buy and have confidence the parts were good. Sadly that is not the case today.
Some of the best brand names that were once considered an upgrade from OE are now Chinese made lower quality made to a price point for these hohohohouses not a high spec.
The bottom like is unless you know you parts and do the research or are unsure of the quality spend the extra money and look for the best deal on OE parts. Surprisingly the dealer is the lowest price sometimes and the part will work as it should and last.
