A view into the new Carquest EP P84502 (Vietnam).

- No efficiency claims
- 54 pleats, 27 x 2 x 3 =162 in2 media area
- 2 thin and stiff layers of media, similar composition, very tough to tear. Very unlike Fram’s thicker, fluffier media
- Plastic mesh backed, also very tough
- Precise glue job, glue was very tough to break apart

That end cap that's peeled back looks pretty thin, but with all the black potting material used to seal the pleat ends to the end caps they should probably be stout enough.

$14 with some Advanced Auto club membership. $17 otherwise.

$17 WILL BE AN EPIC FAIL, they just are asking to lose money on this venture at that price. READ THE ROOM. $13 is where they "might" win with this, But not with every other corp trying to steal money from you by over charging. People will just pass.

The media probably is the same or very similar to the Premium Guard full synthetic used on their full synthetic motorcycle filter. But that one says it uses wire mesh instead of nylon screen backing.

The Titanium, Boss, M1 and K&N are all that price at Advanced - $16 to $17.

Us tightwads would buy $100 worth and get 20% off.

I am in no way implying this is cheap. I didn't buy the titanium and likely won't buy this one, but I bet those that like to run really long OCI will.

I always got my OG Titanium's for $9.00 by buying 6 or more through the manager. That was during and after covid. I bet I can still get a good chunk down but not near $10 I bet. and some down on the new filter I bet. I am happy with the Carquest Premium I bought 15 of them. 99% 20um good enough for me. I dump at 3,000 miles, but I must have 20um, if at all possible. Otherwise I am use to Walmart pricing, Why pay more when I get free walmart shipping on oil and filters.

Same endcaps and ADBV as the Premium I cut previously. The hockey puck of glue under there feels like it would be enough structure on its own though.
