Thought the Carquest blues were not going to be sold by Advance, but apparently they will be. Was looking for an oil filter for my son's 2013 Sonata, and a Carquest blue was an option, but there was none in stock locally. This got me curious, so I checked for my 92 Olds, and sure enough there was a Carquest blue available for it too, but none in stock locally.

You buy them from Advance instead of CarQuest?

From the pricing I saw at Advance, the blues are going to compete with the PurolatorOne.

They are Fram now. CQ switched suppliers during the AAP takeover. But don't worry, they have metal endcaps--even the reds

They are much better than Wix, the Carquest blue is nearly identical to the Mobil 1 filters and the blues are rated above 99% @ 20 microns.

It may take a few years for the merger to be completed. Local Advance store is stocking CarQuest motor oil I noticed recently.

$8.19 for my Jeep before promo code, but so far it looks like they only stock them in the city stores.

They have been carrying CQ branded parts for some time now. Brake components, oil, AC chemicals, etc.

Actually, 2 of them came from Carquests, one came from my AAP hub store, bought with a $10 off $30 code. The CQ guys were a little testy about it, too-I told them to complain to their AAP overlords!

Weirdly, a lot of stores carry one or two (assuming for commercial customers) but you CAN'T buy them onilne, which makes them non-competitive price wise, an Ultra isn't really much more. If you find a friendly AAP manager, you can have them order them in, then "cancel" the order, wait a day or two, then order them online.
