so it's been raining here, I was merging onto another highway (circle onramp) and car lost traction and went sideways across the dirt median. Now the car shakes once it gets to 50mph, but gets better at 60 to 65 and anything faster and it feels like it's gonna shake apart... I'm thinking broken tie rod?

Or as simple as a weight was knocked off. I would have the tires checked, as well as the wheels, front end, and axle. If that all checks out then have the tires re-balanced, hopefully that is all it is!

Here is something that happened to me. I had a Caliper sieze up on the pins. At slow speeds it was fine, but with a warped rotor anything over 60 the whole car would shake because the dang caliper had no play on the rotor.

Sounds like a tire or weight in your case. The caliper is just something to check.

I feel pretty retarded...

I pulled it out of the garage and there was a good amount of mud in the wheels, also weeds wrapped around the rear axle, sprayed it all out and seemed to be fine at 100mph... only real damage seems to be front skirting popped off in one place.

My Cousin Vinny prevails!

I had it happen to my 6 after a long trek in the snow, had to go to a spray it yourself carwash and melt the ice out of the wheels and from around the brakes.
