Hopefully it's in a garage....Palm rats are a big problem in Florida....ask me how I know.

It's in a covered underground parking garage (apartment building) along the coast open to the outdoors.

What percentage of gasoline was ethanol in 2012?

around here it was 5% till 2014.

Bought this '05 New Jetta back in 2012 and soon parked it since the transmission was acting up. Probably needs a valve body. With car prices what they are, I figure now is the time to get it done and maybe I can at least break even on it. I see I filled it up December 27, 2012 and it has 3/4 of a tank. Been driving it around since yesterday and cant tell there is any problem with the gas, as so many posts here would suggest.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If......and I mean a BIG IF, your fuel system is completely sealed, NO LEAKS, gas basically lasts forever. I bought a jetski that had sat out for 5 years, hot in summer, Minnesota cold in winter. Started right up and burned the gas just fine. Now most power equipment is not sealed, then of course all the most volitile compounds will evaporate off leaving the gel.

Fuel degrades VERY slowly, if ever, in a sealed system. It is the small equipment (and old cars) and boats with vented caps that have the problems.
