Ha ha, wow you're really trying to distract. OK let me keep it real simple and restate my core conclusion:
If you were able to reach 32mpg in a 25mpg rated car, you should be able to get well over 40 mpg in the 36mpg-rated Jetta 1.8T (actually you should get 46 mpg - same percentage increase for same driving conditions).
That's hardly the slight increase in mileage you originally claimed.
