can't believe a plumber hooked up 2 hots to a washer

Things are probably heightened even worse due to the post pandemic phenomenon. At least in my area, all of the trades cannot keep up with demand. And, I get the impression that there are lots of big money projects available, so these little sub $1000 projects are getting lower priority (time, skill level, etc.). Heck, the contractor I managed to find to pour and finish my small $2,000 concrete project late last fall said he was working on a $250,000 project.

I've seen the ice maker hooked up to the hot water.

I have seen ice maker hooked up to gas line. Owner called in for service call for bad smell from refrigerator and no ice.

Our plumber hooked up both dishwashers to the cold water pipe. They did not clean well! Called the builder and corrected.
