That will help you guys afford to buy more water drop air planes. 😕
You have an awful lot of forest up there. Seems like a pretty big undertaking to prevent every fire.
Those are all boreal forests; fires are part of the maintenance and ought not be prevented. This is why most are being observed, not fought.

Well, we have gone from Code Purple (breathe and you die) to Code Yellow (OK if you don't have medical concerns), skipping Code Red. The thunderstorms coming in are supposed to blow it out of the area this evening.
People wearing masks are pulling them down exposing their nostrils. Like, why bother with a mask at all?

No it's not. The country that screams of environmental protection but has zero resources or motivation to do anything about it.
It must suck to be a Canadian.

Canada, USA, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand... we all have agreements in place to help each other out with forest fires. This is a good and proper thing.

USA has been on the receiving end of that support for decades, every year. A country with less land mass and 10 times the population of Canada. And you still get help from other countries.

The USA is, by far, THE most generous country on the globe. Look it up.

Both are true. The USA is generous and Canada is a terrific ally of the US. We have our differences, but all in all, the US and Canada benefit greatly from our relationship.

Many folks in the US may not know it but Canada was just as or more involved in fighting all the world wars and other major conflicts in the 20th and 21st centuries including Afghanistan and lost comparable or greater numbers than the US in all of them.

We're talking about a fitting response (the senators response is not) to a natural disaster, and whether Canada is "irresponsible" or "not doing what it should" or doing less than the USA.

As I pointed out, several countries "require help" fighting fires, including the USA.

Had it bad here in central VA yesterday, worst I've ever experienced in terms of smoke smell and lack of visibility. Fine today, was able to mow the grass and tomorrow looks even better. Wow.

If Oregon Trail was made today.
