Can you believe this?

I couldn't look up my 98 Camry so i put in a 2000 Camry V6 that has the same Engine and got 5k OCIs which is exactly what i've been doing with my Camry. Ran it up to 7k miles and the UOA still showed good results.

It's good something is being done to help stop excessive maintenance, now if only they could help collect all that used oil, so it doesn't end up in the wrong places. I personally dump mine at Autozone but it's become harder to do so without being hassled.
I now have to wait in line for the next clerk, tell them how many quarts i have, give my name and phone numbers as they log this into the computer and then get escorted to the back where they stand and watch as you dump the oil.
Just last year i could simply walk back there and dump the oil without anyone questioning anything. In and out in 2 mins.

My Autozone is opposite. Now they just tell you "thank you, sit it on the end of the counter". And "do you need your container back?"
Before it used to be like yours, but without a log.
I think Valvoline is buying used oil from them now, that's why they are so happy about it now.

Isn't it just great to have a government so concerned about citizens that it advises people when to change their car oil & what is the best light bulb to use & what foods we should and should not eat!

Thank you

There's no law... There's simply suggesting that people do exactly what you're doing?

That the fact that anyone is complaining about this demonstrates that ideology seems to supersede common sense for some people.

You've got it. Knee-jerk reactions cultivated by folks that think that ANYTHING a government does is negative. While business can NEVER do wrong. LOL

Well trained kool-aide drinkers.

If CA was forcing consumers to go longer I can understand a negative reaction, but they are only suggesting, and contrary to myth just because they are suggesting doesn't mean they will legislate something. It is actually uncommon.

Problem is, how much tax revenue is spent telling people what they have to do, and how much is that going to accomplish?

What would happen if that money was spent somewhere else, or not spent and turned into a tax cut. Would California be better off? I think so.
