Both are "ester-ized" btw. It'll be for my 1.8T Passat.

Will the Grand Elf of the Green object to such sacrilege?

How many miles are left in your OCI after top-up?I think using a cheap oil for top-up(if there's only a 1000 or so miles left) isn't too stupid.

Actually I haven't started the Motul yet...

I'm still within the final stages of the A-Rx/Rotella 5w40 rinse phase. After this, I will be running 4 bottles of the Motul 0w40 but I'm just short by 1 to make it approx 5qts in.

Though the 1.8T is designed to take approx 4-4.5qts with the oversized oem 068 filter, I will be using yet a bigger Mann filter to do this..it will be in for 5k ocis.

So will the mix be doable?

Johnny...Johnny...Johnny,

The Elves would feel SO guilty if they ever took a break...so many engines to save...so little time...vwoom, I don't know if you were referring to me, but because I am over 6' tall, the Elves do refer to me as "Der Große Elf" which in French would be "le Grand Elfe"...so I guess that's me. I am prepared to grant you dispensation to do what you seek BUT I must warn you, there may be extra engine noise due to the forced assimilation!
