Can I reuse manual trans fluid that's basically new?

I have before. But I run it through a coffee filter first. Takes a day to do depending on how attentive you are.

My dad always did it that way. Use the drain pan, clean the drain pan, put away the drain pan. Probably because he re-used fluids at some point?
