But for the cold start is 0W better right?Isn't 5W30 a lot easier to find? Unless you routinely have cold starts below 0°F, 5W30 is fine.
How do you mean succesAt that mileage why mess with success ?
How cold are we talking about? But for the cold start is 0W better right?
At 0°F yes. At 50°F no noticeable difference. But for the cold start is 0W better right?
If I went that many kilometers on a specific oil product weight I would stay with it. I assume no problems. Anyway you could use an 0-30 if you were inclined to do so. Especially if you live in a colder climate. My cars spec 0-20 and 5-20 and they only see 5-30 or 10-30.How do you mean succes
Not even a significant difference at 0F for most brands. At 0°F yes. At 50°F no noticeable difference.
Was it only one change with the 5w30 or has that been what it’s been using for the bulk of those miles, really it doesn’t matter and I’d feel comfortable running either of those weights. When I bought the car they did 5W30 in it.
But the manual and websites says 0W30.
Can I go back to 0W30? Or will it use and consume more oil now? The car have 228 thousand kilometer (not miles) .
Where are you located and which vehicle is this for? When I bought the car they did 5W30 in it.

Volvo V40 D4 - 5 Cylinder wrong oil? ,
Hello all, I bought an Volvo V40 - D4 with an 2.0 5 cylinder diesel-engine. On websites like Shell lube Match, Total, Castrol and Kroon Oil it says it needs 0W30. The garage where I bought the car from added 5W30, can this be an issue? Can I go back to 0W30 or should I let it as 5W30? Thanks...bobistheoilguy.com
