Just wondering if oil filters can cause engine noise, rough running, or vibrations. Now, I'm not taking about startup noise. I'm referring to noise when the engine is warm or at operating temperature.
Some people have attributed engine noise to the oil they are running. But can an oil filter be a culprit too? While the engine is running the ADBV should be open and oil flowing through the media and back into the engine. Can some aftermarket filters alter the flow of the oil by being too restrictive or too nonrestrictive that can change how the engine sounds and runs?
Has anyone ever swap out oil filters in the middle of an OCI that cured their noisy or rough running engine?
