Replacing one of the rear brake calipers on a '12 Civic and I got stuck trying to remove the parking brake cable from the thru-hole bracket. The pictures shown are examples for reference. What's the trick here ? Checked some videos and some skip past this step, another used an open-end wrench to "work it back and forth", and another guy (in the UK) had to unbolt this bracket and transfer it to the new caliper as the new one apparently doesn't come with it (what I will end up doing if I have to). I live in Ohio so rust, corrosion, etc is no doubt part of the issue and I'm out of any rust penetrant (will get some tomorrow). The thru-hole is keyed/has a flat edge on one side (probably not visible in image).

While pushing on the cable in the direction you would install it, use a BOX END wrench on the other side to compress the retaining tangs, then pull the cable back in the other direction.

Thanks for the idea. Tried it though and nothing budged. I soaked it with WD40 this morning before I went to work and will soak it with Liquid Wrench this afternoon and give it another try though.
