Calcium levels

I use Pennzoil Conventional, but have noticed that the GTX calcium levels seem quite a bit higher. This must be Castrols method of preventing deposits. Is Pennzoils calcium level pretty close to Castrols?

The deposit prevention has alot to do with the overall formulation, not just calcium. Both Pennzoil and Castrol have tested their formulas to be effective against deposits.

Is this that causes the strange smell when I change oil.

Used PP and oil smelled like no other oil I have ever changed .

how are you able to sniff out the aromatic nuances of used motor oils over the combustion byproducts, half oxidized hydrocarbons, VOCs and soot????

My wife says I have a nose like she has never seen in her life ... go figure .
